Nita Thakore is a textile artist and design educator with nearly four decades of professional contributions to her credit within her interest areas of international art, craft, design led classroom, studio, workshop and project
Her research in the specialized area of ‘Contemporary Textile Art in India’ has been generously supported by the British Council (Charles Wallace India Trust Grant Award 1987) and subsequently by the J.William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board & Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, Washington DC in the year 2000.
Nita is academically associated with 30+ design institutes overseas (USA, Singapore, Qatar, France, UK, USSR, Poland) as well as 29 design institutes within India.
Nita believes and hopes that she can establish a shared vision and approach she has for arts-crafts-design integrated global-local learning and teaching with aspirations to participate in a world of tomorrow that can sustain itself through a value based transformational pedagogy.
