Post Graduate Diploma in Family Managed Business is specifically designed to advance awareness about the prospects, characteristics and future challenges to family businesses, although family businesses in India have distinction of having deep-rooted cultural values, along with the Joint-family structure and strong inclination towards kinship and brotherhood, in present dynamics of business environment it very difficult to retain deep-rooted cultural values along with the growth trajectories of business. This programme will enable family business owners to build on and leverage on the strengths of the family businesses and ponder through and develop suitable solutions to respond to the complexities and uncertainties in their existing businesses for sustainable and holistic growth, creation of wealth across generations and attracting and retaining right professional talent.
Programme is designed based on innovative pedagogy and latest researches on global family owned businesses. This course would enhance the knowledge for those who are involved in family business on broad areas of general management including succession and family dynamics to continuity planning and strategic performance.

Learn and Work Convergence:- The students are continuously in work & learn mode, the classes are held only 3 days per week and 3 days they spend compulsorily in their own businesses delving better understanding of the same.
Facilitators:- Top rank faculties from best business schools in India ,renowned management guru’s ,Working Business professionals and Practicing Consultants are the facilitators in a typical PGDFMB class in AURO to sharpen the ability and develop skills to understand the intricacies desired to scale up the family business.
Peer Evaluation Assignments:- Innovative pedagogy includes an unique way of handling assessment structure wherein the written examinations are replaced by experiential grading classroom sessions with peer evaluations on their real time business.
Networking:- Lunch with Leaders – Prominent business leaders of society are invited to share their leadership journeys and inspire and motivate the students to craft their own leadership endeavor’s. Students are able to network and build their own connections during the interactions.
Action Based Learning:-ACTION PLAN – Is a tailor-made module in phase 2 and 3 for each student which caters as an unique stimulator where the students need to pick choose one specific task in their respective business to be accomplished in a period of 8 months. Experienced mentors do the handholding during the period for successful accomplishment of the tasks. Authentic assessment and documentation helps in assimilation of the task.
International Trip:- International Immersion trip gives exposure to understand the Global family business scenario and develop creative thinking abilities for applications in ones own business environment. Europe and Italy have been identified as the next prominent family owned business countries.

Eligibility
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 or 10+2+4) from a recognized University / Institute in India or abroad, with a minimum of 50% marks.
- In case the Bachelor’s degree received from abroad, an equivalence certificate issued from Association of Indian University (AIU) must be attached with the application form.
- Student expecting their results by July 2021 may also apply for provisional admission subject to the fact that their aggregate score in Bachelor Degree Examination shall be a minimum of 50% marks.
- Compulsorily need to have a family business background

International Trip take off
was 14 Nights and 15 days to Europe ( Italy and Spain) . Eight cities Rome , Florence , Pisa , Bologna , Milan , Madrid , Seville , Valencia & Barcelona were covered . The trip included 15 PGDFMB students along with 1 Faculty – Ms Indrani Sen Gupta . The trip began on 21st March from Mumbai .

Rome - Plazzo del Freddo Giovanni Fassi ( Galeto)
Plazzo Del Freddo Giovanni Fassi ( Galeto) is the oldest ice cream shop in Rome , from 1880 . Andrea Fassi is the current CEO , he belongs to the 5th Generation & wants to expand Palazzo Brand all over the world . An demonstration about the Gelato ice cream making was given to the students and the Family Business History was explained .

Rome - La Carovana Menu :- Pizza Making Lesson
La Carovana is a traditional family restaurant which was opened in 1971 . It is one of the most popular restaurant in Rome . The students were given a hands on workshop cum demonstration on authentic Italian Pizza making Techniques .

Rome - The Colosseum
Colosseum is the largest amphitheater ever built , situated in Rome Although partially ruined because of damage caused by earthquakes and stone-robbers, the Colosseum is still an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and is listed as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Florence - Gucci Garden
Gucci Garden is a combination Restaurant , Museum & Shop basically a Concept Store . The Museum curates to a wide range of pieces from collections dating back to the House’s Florentine origins in 1921 . The Students were taken through the entire design evolution and journey of the brand – Gucci . The philiosopy and the art both were demonstrated in the museum .

PISA - Leaning Tower of PISA
Leaning Tower Pisa - Freestanding Bell tower , of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa , known worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean . Students visited the tower and had a guided tour about the entire history of the tower .

Milan & Bologna - Ducati Museum
Ducati Museum – Bologna - Students visited the Ducati Museum and went through a journey of the legendary 90-year history of the company , renowned across the world for its style , performance & search for perfection .

Board Room Interaction - Assocalzaturifici of Moreschi (Designer Shoe Company )
Board Room Interaction with Assocalzaturifici of Moreschi (Designer Shoe Company) & Factory Visit - Moreschi was founded in 1946 by the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of Mario Morechi . Today the 3rd generation has taken over the company and are taking forward the brand Morechi . Students had an opportunity to interact with the top designers of the company who shared the brief history of the company and also briefed the students about the Italian art of Shoe making .

SPAIN - Madrid - CMI Session with Dr Maria & Mr Rafael
CMI Business School Session with Dr Maria Inmaculada Rodriguez Roblero & Mr Rafael - CMI – Conscious Management Institute is an institute of research , development & innovation specialized in Conscious management . An interactive session on managing business & organizations with integrity & responsibility was conducted by Dr Maria.

SPAIN-Madrid - IE Business School – 8th world rank Business School - Interaction
Campus tour at IE Business School – 8th World Rank Business School. Students visited the business School and explored their opportunities for further studies and various courses offered.

Seville - Cordoba – Mosque tuned into Cathedral
Mosque–Cathedral Cordobo – Mosque turned into Catholic Cathedral. The structure is regarded as one of the most accomplished monuments of Moorish architecture.

Seville – Sky Diving
Sky Diving Adventure - 8 out of 15 students experienced sky diving from 15000 feet it is termed as tandem jump. Students after 15 minutes of instruction were ready to do the tandem skydive with an expert instructor.

Valencia – Torres Serranos
Torres de Serranos is one of the twelve gates that formed part of the ancient city wall, the Christian Wall of the city of Valencia, Spain. Its name is probably due to its location in the northeast of the old city centre, making it the entry point for the royal road connecting Valencia with the district of Serrans ( as well as the entry point for the royal road to Barcelona.

Barcelona – Lladro
The Lladró Museum is the family home of the Lladró brothers in Almàssera, a town close to Valencia, Spain. The unique experience includes a tour of the handcrafted process of creation of our pieces and a visit to the Lladró Museum & Boutique, where you can see all our current collections.

Barcelona – City Tour by Bike
City Tour by Bicycles - A fun, laid-back tour that gave a great overview of Barcelona’s amazing architecture, history and street culture. The local guide accompanied the students and it was liking paddling their way to history.

Torres Wine Cellar & Tasting
Torres Wine Cellar & Tasting - This spectacular tour takes you to one of the world's most important wineries. 5 generations are behind this family business that has not stopped growing since its founding in 1870. Today Torres Wines is truly an empire in the wine business and one of the worlds biggest wineries. During the winery visit students discovered how monks came to Catalonia in the middleages an plantet vines. They also got aware about the secrets behind the winery production and got to know the history of the winery.
